Instructions

    • 1

Wedge the flat-head screwdriver under the clip. Gently move the screwdriver up and down to see if the glue is weak and the clip will pop off.

    • 2

Pull at the clip with pliers until it detaches. Increase pressure slowly with the pliers, pulling away from the earring while holding it down with your fingers or the screwdriver.

    • 3

Remove any excess glue with Goo Gone and lightly sand where the clip and glue were previously.

    • 4

Apply glue made specifically for jewelry to the center of the earring and position the pierced-earring back on top of the glue.

    • 5

Use a toothpick to remove any excess glue before allowing it to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Vintage earrings may be brittle. Soaking them in a bowl of water to loosen the glue may prevent cracking from the use of pliers and screwdrivers.

  • Use glue in a well-ventilated room.
