We have all abused our hair in some way over the years. Blow dryers, using shampoos with harsh chemicals to clean it, dying it blond. This causes our hair to diminish in luster, break or become damaged. It is best to use all natural-ingredients on hair, as hair is not really designed for this abuse. Make your own natural leave-in conditioner to get your hair back to a good working condition.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Knife
  • Avocado
  • Spoon
  • Glass bowl
  • Lavender, basil or chamomile essential oil
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Shower cap
  • Towel
  1. Step 1

Cut the avocado in half. Put two and a half small spoonfuls of avocado into the bowl.

  2. Step 2

Add 20 drops of lavender, basil or chamomile oil. Add the extra-virgin olive oil while stirring it into a paste. Do not allow it to become too runny.

  3. Step 3

Make this recipe with a different oil every time to see which oil works the best on your hair.

  4. Step 4

Create a fresh batch of this recipe any time you want to use it. (No need to save any unused portions.)

Tips & Warnings
  • Leave the mixture in your hair and cover it with a shower cap. Put some hot towels on top of the cap to activate the mixture. Leave it on up to an hour if you have the time. Reheat the towel as it cools.
  • Do not add any other products to your hair after doing this treatment. It might react to the ingredients you already have used and cause your scalp to breakout. Do an allergy test with the oils before you start. Put a drop on your arm and see if any itchy red bumps occur.
