How to Remove Wrinkles From a Leather Coat

Drape open the jacket across the ironing board. Wipe the jacket with a damp cloth, using light pressure. Pay special attention to buttons or zippers that often attract dirt. Use the dry cloth to gently pat the jacket, and absorb the moisture from the damp cloth.

Pour some baby powder into your hands, and clap them together to avoid applying excess to the jacket. Dust the jacket with baby powder to seal off the pores. Use the dry cloth to polish the jacket and restore sheen.

Turn your shower to the hottest setting. Place the leather jacket on a sturdy hanger. Close any buttons and zippers to prevent the jacket from falling off the hanger.

Carefully hang the jacket in the bathroom as close to the shower as possible. Avoid placing it directly in the shower or anywhere that may cause the jacket to get wet. Close all doors to let steam accumulate in the bathroom. Let the jacket hang for 10 minutes.

Turn on the iron, and set it to warm. After 10 minutes, turn off the shower and remove the jacket. Place a layer of brown paper bags on top of the ironing board. Remove the jacket from the hanger, and place it on top of the bags. Cover the jacket with another layer of bags. Iron the jacket, being careful to keep the iron on top of the bags.

Return the jacket to the hanger. Hang the jacket in a closet, and gently pull down on the jacket to smooth out the surface and eliminate any minor wrinkling.
