A DVD player is normally connected to a single television, but it is possible to connect a single DVD player to two televisions at the same time if you have cable or satellite TV. The procedure only requires a bit of patience and planning and does not require altering or physically changing the DVD player or televisions in any way. Afterward, the DVD player can continue to play on multiple screens or on a single TV as it did before.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • DVD player
  • Two televisions
  • A/B switcher box
  • Wire stripper
  • Cable cutter
  • RF modulator plugs
  • Modulator
  • Cable or satellite television
  1. Step 1

Locate the coaxial cable for the satellite TV or cable company that is coming into the house or apartment. Cut the cable into two parts, using the cable cutter.

  2. Step 2

Use the wire stripper to expose the wires of both sides of the coaxial cut cable. Use the cable cutter to attach an RF modulator plug to both sides of the cut coaxial cable.

  3. Step 3

Attach the RF modulator plug of the coaxial cable that came into the house or apartment into the "A" input of the A/B switch. Attach the RF modulator plug of the other cut coaxial cable into the output of the A/B switch.

  4. Step 4

Attach the output of the RF modulator to the "B" input of the A/B switch. Take an RF coaxial cable and attach one end to the RF output of the DVD player and the other end to the RF input of the RF modulator.

  5. Step 5

Flip the A/B switch to the "B" position. Turn on the DVD player and insert a disc. Start the disc playing to transmit its picture to two televisions that are connected to the satellite or cable TV, such as the television in the living room and the other television in the bedroom, all at the same time.
