Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the wreath with ribbon. Secure both ends of the ribbon with a small amount of glue. You can either simply wrap the outside of the wreath or wind the ribbon through some of the vines if they are loose enough.

    • 2

Make a bow with matching or coordinating ribbon.

    • 3

Arrange all the embellishments you picked out for this wreath as well as the bow you just made. Do not attach any of the pieces yet because you will want to try different arrangements until you decide what looks the best.

    • 4

Attach the bow with floral wire by looping the wire through the back part of the bow and then wrap the wire around a few pieces of the grapevine pieces just like a twist tie.

    • 5

Use the floral wire to attach any holly or other floral pieces. You might have to use wire cutters to remove the stems so they each sit nicely around the wreath. You could also use the stems to attach the floral pieces to the wreath if they are bendable.

Use the floral wire to attach any embellishments that need to move freely, such as bells or ornaments.

    • 7

Glue all other embellishments to the wreath.

    • 8

Hold up the wreath to make sure all the pieces and components are secure and lay correctly. Use small dabs of glue to secure anything that is not sitting correctly or that appears loose.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to keep the embellishments in clusters of odd numbers, such as bells or ornaments, for the best aesthetic appeal. The size of the embellishments you pick out needs to be dependent on where the wreath will be displayed. If it is being hung on a front door and needs to be seen from the street, the pieces need to be larger than they would need to be if the wreath is going to be hung over a fire place.

  • Only pick ribbon that has wire edges for both wrapping the wreath and making your bow. The wire will help the ribbon hold it's shape once you hang it. Plus the wire edges will allow you to reshape it when it gets smashed by the screen door or harsh wind.
