There are 6 ways to reduce stress in your daily life. The time of day that one chooses to relieve stress depends on the individual. Some people have more time in the afternoon than in the morning. Choose what works for you.

1. Laughter-There is nothing like having a good, hearty laugh to relieve some stress. Call someone up who makes you laugh and you are on your way to living with less stress in your life. If you have children, they have a way of making all your problems go away. Children can be very comical.

2. Take a walk-A brisk walk will allow you to think about your problems and how to deal with them. You will burn calories and make your body feel less tense.

3. Music-Listening to music is very calming for the soul. Jazz is my favorite to listen to after a bad day on the job. Listening to music in the car is great; however, if you are able to have a radio, ipod , or mp3 player at work this will help you during the day.

4. A balanced diet-Eating three meals and three snacks is an excellent way to keep the body going. Your body needs to have the right food to stay energized. Always eat breakfast.

5. Reduce caffeine -Cut down on drinks with caffeine in it. They tend to add to the stress level. Notice I stated cut down because it is hard to go cold turkey. Start with one less drink a day.

6. Stretching exercises-Take a few moments out of your day to stretch your arms and legs. Feel the tension leave your body. You will feel better. Some communities offer yoga classes. Try signing up for one. You will enjoy it.
