If your MacBook Pro has an Intel processor, you can run the WIndows XP operating system on your computer using a variety of programs, including Parallels Desktop or Apple Boot Camp. In order to set up these applications, you will need to insert a WIndows XP installation CD into your Mac's disk drive. After installation is complete, you can eject the Windows XP disk from your MacBook Pro.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Close any applications currently running on your MacBook Pro that could be using the Windows XP installation CD.

  2. Step 2

Open a new Finder window by clicking on the icon in the Dock.

  3. Step 3

Navigate to the "Applications" folder on your hard drive and then open the "Utilities" folder.

  4. Step 4

Double-click on the "Disk Utility" icon.

  5. Step 5

Highlight the Windows XP installation CD from the list of available media on the left side of the Disk Utility window.

  6. Step 6

Click on the "Eject" button at the top of the window. The Windows XP disk will now be ejected from your MacBook Pro's disk drive.
