Concealer can be used to cover up blemishes and imperfections on the skin. When applied properly, concealer can make it appear as though there was never any blemish on your face.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Concealer
  • Make-up brushes
  • Steady hands
  • Mirror
  1. Step 1

First, wash your face thoroughly. You need to make sure that there isn't any excess dirt and oils left on the skin, as applying make-up to oily and blemished skin causes more blemishes. After washing, pat your skin with a microfiber towel (if available) and apply toner and moisturizer.

  2. Step 2

There are two types of concealer that I know of and use. There's concealer that comes on a stick (looks similar to lipstick but it's skin-toned) and then there's concealer that comes in a little jar. I'll discuss how to apply both.

  3. Step 3

For concealer that comes on a stick , simply apply to the areas that you'd like to conceal. Be sure to use the tip of your finger to blend it in with your skin as much as possible.

  4. Step 4

For concealer that comes in a jar, use a very small make-up brush, make-up sponge, or your fingertips and blot onto the area you'd like to conceal. Blend as much as possible.

  5. Step 5

After you've applied the concealer, apply a foundation of your choice. Using make-up brush, powder puff, make-up sponge, or your fingertips, blend the foundation on to your face.

Tips & Warnings
  • The most important thing to know about concealer is that it must match your skin tone and your foundation. If possible, try sampling make-up before you buy it. Major department stores like Macy's or JC Penny will usually give you this option.
  • Don't over-apply concealer or any other make-up for that matter unless you want caked-on make-up.
  • Always wash your face at night and in the morning to avoid causing further blemishes.
