• Unlock code, purchased from your local technician or online
• Non-carrier SIM card (from another carrier)

1. Purchase an unlock code. Unlocktotalk.com (see Resources) offers such codes, as do online auction sites, such as Ebay, which often sell the codes at discount rates.

2. Power off phone. Remove the working SIM card and insert a non-carrier SIM card. Use any SIM card not made by the cell phone company that issued your locked phone. Borrow a friend's card or purchase a SIM card from any carrier other than the issuing provider. Power phone on.

3. Wait for phone to display "phone restricted." Select cancel. Wait for phone to display "phone restriction code."

4. Enter phone unlock code. Select OK. Restart phone to verify unlocking.
