    How to Buy Tanning Lamps

  1. Step 1

Determine the type of lamp your tanning bed uses. Be sure to check the wattage and the type of connectors they use.

  2. Step 2

Write down the label found on the lamps. For most tanning beds, this will begin with an "F" and be followed by two to three digits. If your tanning bed has facial bulbs, these bulbs will have their own model number, so be sure to check them as well.

  3. Step 3

Count the number of lamps your tanning bed uses. Most tanning beds use 24 to 48 lamps, but this can vary.

  4. Step 4

Contact the manufacturer directly. Buying in bulk cannot only save you a great deal of money, it's also a good idea for you to replace all of the bulbs at the same time.

  5. Step 5

Confirm the bulbs' life span. On average, you should expect tanning bed lamps to last 800 to 1,000 hours.

  6. Step 6

Order the appropriate model and number of tanning lamps that your bed uses. Once your lamps arrive, you can easily replace them yourself.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always follow the tanning bed company's suggested guidelines. Excessive tanning bed use might cause cancer.
