Leather dress shoes get scuffed and dirty over time and need to be polished. Instead of automatically reaching for the standard black or brown shoe polish, try something unusual instead. The inside of a banana peel can be an effective tool for shining shoes. Unlike traditional shoe polishes, you don't have to worry about fumes, stains or appropriate disposal with a banana peel.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Banana peel
  • 2 soft cloths
  1. Step 1

Open the banana and remove it from the banana peel. Set the banana aside to eat later.

  2. Step 2

Rub the inside of the banana peel all over the shoe's surface. Repeat with the other shoe.

  3. Step 3

Use a soft cloth to rub the stickiness of the banana peel into the shoes.

  4. Step 4

Rub the shoes with the other soft cloth to rub off the banana and buff out the shoes.
