Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paneer – 1 small pack
  • Besan Flour- 1 Cup (Available at Indian Grocery stores)
  • Rice Flour - 1 Cup (Available at Indian Grocery stores)
  • Salt- To taste
  • Red Chilli Powder- 1 ½ teaspoons
  • Baking Soda- a pinch
  • Oil – To fry
  1. Step 1

Mix all the ingredients except the paneer into a paste by adding water. The paste should neither be too watery nor too thick. It should be in medium consistency.

  2. Step 2

Cut the paneer into square pieces, about 1/ 2 inch in thickness and 11/2 inches in length and breadth.

  3. Step 3

Dip the paneer cubes in the mix.

  4. Step 4

    Heat oil in a saucepan.

  5. Step 5

Take out 2- 3 pieces of paneer dipped in the mix and fry them in oil until they get golden in color. Repeat the process until you get enough number of pakoras.

  6. Step 6

After frying the pakoras in oil, set them aside in a container with a paper towel spread at the bottom. By doing this, any excess oil on the pakoras will get sucked into the paper towel.

  7. Step 7

Serve with tomato ketchup or chutney.
