Instructions

    • 1

Choose the most appropriate hanging position for the blind hardware. This is an important consideration because it will determine how the blind is cut to size to fit over the window.

    • 2

Mount the hanging brackets in the correct position (inside mount; outside mount, or ceiling mount). Try to mount them in a position that will allow the screws to sink into wall studs---especially for large, bulky, heavy window blinds. Mark the positions of the bracket holes with a pencil. Use a tape measure if needed to place the brackets correctly. Use a drill to screw the brackets into position.

    • 3

Attach the valance clips to the head rail before placing the blind in the brackets. Then slide the head rail of the blind into the brackets. Close the retainer clips to keep the head rail in place.

    • 4

Attach the wand to the louver tilt mechanism. Open and close the blind. Then open and close the louvers to be sure the blind operates correctly.

    • 5

Choose a position to mount the cord cleat. Attach the cord cleat to the wall with screws using a drill. Wrap the blind cord around the cord cleat to keep the cord out of the way. Attach the valance to the valance clips to hide the head rail.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mounting blinds directly onto vinyl windows may void the manufacturer's warranty and interfere with the safe and correct operation of the window.
