How to Install a Panasonic Car Stereo to the Amp

Panasonic car stereos require an amplifier to power the speakers. This connection is usually made with a wiring harness that bundles all the stereo and power cables together for hassle-free hookups. If you are installing a Panasonic car stereo, then you already have a wiring harness in your car from the factory radio. Follow these steps to wire your Panasonic stereo to an amp so you can listen to music.

        Disconnect the negative cable from the car battery to shut off electrical power while you are working. Alternatively, you can disconnect the power cable from the amplifier to the car battery by unscrewing the wire from the amplifier post and bending it aside, but you'll have to be careful not to brush against the wire while you're working.

        Connect the Panasonic car stereo to the wiring harness using the plug on the back of the Panasonic unit. This plug snaps into the wiring harness plug behind the dashboard.

        Connect the RCA cable plug to the jack in the other end of the wiring harness.

        Plug the opposite end of the RCA cable into the input jack of the amplifier.
