How to Design a Custom Basketball Jersey
There are only a couple of items you have to include in your basketball jersey design. You will need numbers on both the front and back of the basketball jersey, and you will also need a team name on your basketball jersey. Check with your basketball league to see if there are certain rules and regulations regarding basketball jersey design and ask any questions you may have before you proceed with your design. Once you know the rules, you can have fun designing your basketball jersey.

1
Decide what number you want on the basketball jersey and the font of the number. The same number should be on the front and back of the jersey. This number is usually big enough so referees and fans can see it during a game. You can also put this number on your shorts, where it can be smaller.

2
Decide what name you want on the front of the basketball jersey. It can be the name of your town or city, school initials or mascot. The name should be positioned above the number on the front of the basketball jersey. Again, make sure it is large enough for fans to see.

Start sketching your basketball jersey. Sketch what you want the front to look like and sketch what you want the back to look like. Use your imagination while keeping the jersey practical. Although long sleeves may look good to you, running up and down a basketball court in long sleeves is not practical unless you are playing outside in cold weather.

You can put a name on the back of the basketball jersey above the number. This name is often the last name of the player wearing the jersey. But you can make it whatever name you want. To create team unity, you can put the name of your team on the back of all the jerseys. Or you can simply leave the name area blank.

5
Decide what colors you want. The jersey can be a solid color with the names and numbers in a different color, or you can add more color. You could put some horizontal stripes below the numbers or vertical stripes down the side, connecting to your shorts.

Look online for companies that will produce your jersey. Make sure they can make exactly what you want. If not, you may want to shop around some more or you may want to adjust your design so a company can accommodate your request without spending too much. Look in your local phone book as well, or visit a sports store and ask if they know of a company in the area that will produce your jerseys. You can also contact a local school to see where they had their basketball jerseys made.
