Things You'll Need:
- container
- nail polish
- nail files
- nail buffer
-
Step 1
Determine what theme or specific use you are creating your nail kit for, whether it is for making acrylic nails, grooming your natural nails, or just a collection of nail polish colors. Group together similar nail polish colors, such as all pearly, all matte or all shimmery colors.
-
Step 2
Acquire a container of some sort that you can put all of your tools in. You might use a shoe box, a Tupperware container or any case that you can organize so that you can find your tools easily.
-
Step 3
Gather together the basic tools you will need. These tools are all pretty inexpensive. You will need nail clippers; a cuticle stick for pushing back cuticles; nail files; nippers for clipping off hangnails; a nail buffer to shine up nails without the use of clear polish; nail polish remover; and cotton balls. Q-Tips are good for cleaning up nail polish that you might get around your nails when you paint them.
-
Step 4
Purchase nail decorations such as stickers and small gems. Toothpicks are good for drawing little designs with nail polish. A pair of tweezers will help apply very small decorations such as gems, and you will need nail glue to get them to stick. If you want to do your own French manicure there are special French tip pens on the market that make painting them on much easier.
