  1. Step 1

Determine your project. Consider the colors and design that you will use

  2. Step 2

Go to your local craft art or art store. Shrink plastic can usually be found in the stamp, scrapbook or stencil aisles.

  3. Step 3

Purchase the pack of shrink plastic that best coincides with your project. For instance, if you are making silhouettes, black shrink plastic would be best.

  4. Online

  5. Step 1

Search for terms like "shrink plastic," "shrink paper" and the brand name "Shrinky Dinks" to find websites that sell this type of paper.

  6. Step 2

Research each site for the most cost-effective shrink plastic, low shipping costs and how many colors are offered.

  7. Step 3

Use your credit or debit card to purchase the paper after you have found the website with the best price and security for using your card.

Tips & Warnings
  • To cut shrink plastic, use manicure scissors. These smaller, curved scissors work well with the bends and curves of designs.
  • Never order shrink plastic from a website that doesn't have a secure checkout system. This could result in your credit or debit card number being stolen.
