Step 1
Do not deprive yourself of what you want.
You want to avoid fast and highly processed food. Other than that, do not skip out on a good meal just because it might be higly caloric or fatty.
If you believe it to be unhealty, eat a smaller portion. -
Step 2
Try cooking the meal yourself.
Cooking an italian meal will be cheaper and much tastier than a bowl of pasta at The Olive Garden. You will have more controll of what goes in your meal, and I believe it's more fun. -
Step 3
Use whole foods.
Fresh tomatoes are going to be far tastier and healthier than their canned counter-part.
Consider going to your local farmers market to get cheaper fruits and veggies. It's a very good chance that they're also organic. -
Step 4
Eat slowly.
Eating slowly does a couple things. It makes every bite tastier, and it also give the stomach time to process the feeling of fullness so you're more satisfied with less food. -
Step 5
Share the meal with friends and family.
Cooking and eating is far more rewarding when done with people you care about.
