Glass topped stove cooktops are much easier to clean than are other types of cooktops. If you own a glass topped stove cooktop you probably love that you can easily wipe it down on a daily basis. However, when grime and grease build up on your glass topped stove you may find it difficult to clean. Knowing how to clean your glass topped stove without ruining it can help with your grease build up woes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soap
  • Water
  • Dishrag or sponge
  • Razor Blade
  • Disinfectant
  1. Step 1

Before doing a thorough cleaning on your glass cooktop stove, you will want to wash the surface with soap and warm water. Use your dishrag or sponge to remove any loose particles of food or dirt. You will not need to scrub for hours with soap and water, just remove anything that is loose.

  2. Step 2

Use a flat edged razor blade to remove stuck on grease and grime. The flat edge of a razor blade can be very effective in removing residue that would take hours to remove otherwise. Be careful not to cut yourself. Most glass topped stove cooktops will not be damaged by the blade.

  3. Step 3

After you have removed all stuck on residue from your stove cooktop, wipe the surface with a disinfectant like Lysol to disinfect the surface and remove any remaining residue.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use caution when using a razor blade to remove grease and residue from your stove. Improper use of a razor blade can result in injury.
