How to Unlock Direct TV Parental Passwords

DirecTV is a leading satellite provider, offering many innovative features to users. Among those features are parental controls, which allow users to create a family-friendly channel guide to prevent children from viewing inappropriate programs. However, when adults wish to view a locked program, they must first unlock the parental control they placed upon the channel. Unlocking parental controls consists of simply inputting the parental password in the unlock menu.

• DirecTV remote control

Instructions

1. Hit the "Menu" button located on your DirecTV remote control to launch your DirecTV menu screen.

2. Select "Locks" from the menu list.

3. Type in the four-digit code created upon setting the parental control lock, and then select "Unlock System" to unlock the channel.

Tips & Warnings

• You are offered three attempts to input your password, after which you will be locked from the system. If this happens, call DirecTV customer service.

• Remember to relock the system to reactivate the parental control feature after viewing.
