1
Decide if you want to ask someone to come in and help your guests choose perfumes or if you'd like to organize your own party. The benefit of having an expert is that you can get their opinion on fragrances and sometimes even make your own scents.

2
Research a few companies you can work with or would like to invite into your home. Ask around about what people think of the companies. Look at the list in References for a jumping-off point. If you don't live in the areas listed, try calling the companies and asking for local references.

3
Ask your party host their rates and hours. Be sure to ask about mileage or parking fees and how many guests you can invite. You should also ask about their cancellation policy so there won't be an argument if something comes up that makes you have to cancel the party.
-
4
Decide on a location. Having the party at someone's house is preferable, as this makes the party more intimate. However, you can also hold the party at a temple, church or other locale.

5
After talking to the perfume representative, decide how many people to invite. Make a list and require the guests to RSVP so you'll know exactly who's coming. If you're going into business for yourself, think about how much you'll be charging per head. Look into making a cancellation policy so you're not stuck if your guests don't show up.
-
6
Familiarize yourself with the products if you are the one selling the perfumes. Sample a few so you can recommend your favorites. You may want to practice your sales pitch with friends and family before your first party.
-
7
Have fun. Think about serving light snacks (such as vegetables and dip or chips and salsa) and wine at your party and making a music-mix CD for the background.
