How to Enable Javascript & Flash Explorer

Many modern websites include animations or interactive content that require Adobe Flash or Javascript. If Javascript and Flash are not properly enabled on your web browser, these sites may not display properly. For Internet Explorer users, Flash must be downloaded from Adobe's website, while Javascript can be enabled through the application's options.

  1. Javascript Instructions

      Open a new Internet Explorer window, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options."

      Go to the "Security" tab at the top of the pop-up window.

      Click on the "Custom Level" button at the bottom of the window and then scroll down through the list of settings until you see "Scripting."

      Select "Enable" for the "Active Scripting" option.

      Click "OK" to save the settings and enable Javascript.

    Flash Instructions

      Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the Adobe Flash download page (see Resources).

      Choose "WIndows Vista/XP" from the list of available operating systems and then hit "Continue."

      Select the "Flash Player 10 for WIndows Internet Explorer" option and then click on the "Install Now" button.

      Click in the yellow notification bar that pops up and choose the "Install This Add-On" option.

      Click on the "Install" button in the pop-up window to finish installing Flash on your browser. Once you receive notification that the installation has finished, Flash will be automatically enabled in Internet Explorer.
