How to Create Custom Contact Tables

MySpace is a popular social networking website that allows users to customize various aspects of their profiles. The contact table is an element located on every profile that provides other users with the option to contact, block or add you, along with five other options. If you want to customize the appearance of the contact table, many websites will help you do so without requiring advanced knowledge of HTML code.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a site to create your custom contact table. There are many sites to choose from, but most of them operate the same way. Some examples are MyTheme.com, Pimp-My-Profile.com and Contactbles.com (see Resources).

    • 2

Decide on the background for your contact table. If you use a solid color, enter the hexadecimal code for the background color in the appropriate box, or select a color from the tool that pops up. If you want to use an image, click "Upload" and select the picture you want to use or paste the URL of the image into the box, if applicable.

    • 3

Select a font color and font face. Choose a font that will show up against the background you selected. Use a contrasting color or a bold font so that users can read the text in your contact table. Some sites also let you select font attributes, such as a drop shadow or outline.

    • 4

Choose the default link text or change it to say what you want. There are eight links in your contact table: Send Message, Add to Friends, IM/Call, Add to Group, Forward to Friend, Add to Favorites, Block User and Rank User. You can change the text of these links to say whatever you want.

    • 5

Generate the code for the contact table by selecting the option that says something like "Finish" or "Get Code." Highlight all of the code and press "Ctrl" and "C" to copy it to your clipboard.

    • 6

Log into MySpace and click "Edit Profile." Paste the code into your "About Me" box by pressing "Ctrl" and "V" and save your changes. Your custom contact table will appear in place of the standard MySpace contact table.
