1. Buy enough blank business cards for your supply from your local office supply store. They will come in large sheets with perforated edges that can be separated to create individual cards once printed.

2. Buy or download a business card software system. If you have the Microsoft Word program on your computer, use that to create business cards. In addition, many printers come with software to create business cards.

3. Create a template using any colors, pictures (photos or caricatures) and designs you want. Be sure to include all relevant information to your business such as name, business address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address and business hours.

4. Print your business cards on your home printer using the blank business card stock. Separate individual business cards from each sheet.

5. If you are not using a home template to print your business cards, visit an online retailer where you can design your business card and have the company print them on higher quality paper. This option can be more expensive, but provides a more professional look.
