How to Transfer Summer School Credit

High school is an integral part of a student's life and helps determine his acceptance into college. According to the Palmetto Independent Educators, a student's transcript is a record of her course work, grades and accomplishments during the high school years. Sometimes students fall behind in their required coursework, resulting in the need for summer school. Summer school is documented within the high school transcript like any other course. Luckily, most schools accept summer school credits.

Instructions

1. Call the school you obtained the summer school credit from, as they will have your grades on file.

2. Request an official transcript--which will contain your summer school records--be mailed to your new school.

3. Provide the school with the correct name and address of your new school to ensure that it is mailed to the correct place.

Tips & Warnings

• Most schools will mail your transcript to another school free of charge.

• Be sure to request an official transcript, which usually must be sealed and come directly from the prior school, so that your new school accepts the records.

• Some schools may not accept all transfer credits.
