How to Decorate a Garden Arch With Balloons
Nothing adds excitement to party or event decor like a spectacular balloon arch. Make one fairly easily using your standard garden arch and some helium balloons. The process is a bit tedious and can be time-consuming, but is not particularly difficult. It can result in a beautiful decoration that is especially cost-effective, provided you already have access to the garden arch. If you don't have one, consider borrowing one before undertaking the cost of purchasing one.

1
Clean the arch of all dirt, dust and debris, which it is likely to have accumulated, especially if it's been outdoors. A garden hose and a scrub brush or broom make the job easier. Dry the entire arch off with an old towel.

2
Cut 4-inch lengths of florist wire and set them aside. You need as many lengths of wire cut as you have balloons. Use a helium tank and blow up the balloons indoors, so you will not lose the balloons you fill.

3
Wrap one end of a piece of florist wire around the tied end of the balloon carefully to avoid puncturing the balloon with the end of the wire. Follow by wrapping a small piece of clear packaging tape around the end as well. Wind the other end of the wire around a rung on the garden arch. Cover this with the packaging tape, too, to also avoid punctures.

4
Cut 6-inch lengths of ribbon with scissors. The ribbon can be any width or type, but its color should coordinate with the color of the balloons. Wrap the ribbon around the florist wire, which disguises the wire and protects the balloons from the wire ends.

5
Continue adding the balloons to the arch, placing them about 2 inches apart, until the arch is adequately covered with balloons. Carefully move the garden arch back outside and position in the place you want for it. Use wire cutters to cut a heavy coat hanger, then use the coat hanger wires to stake the arch into the ground. Use as much coat hanger wire as needed to firmly secure your arch.
