How To Copy Modem Driver From Packard Bell Master CD

It is always a good idea to make backup copies of your computer CDs. This is because you never know what might happen and what damage could occur. This includes the driver installation disk for your Packard Bell modem. If the driver installation disk were lost or damaged, you wouldn't be able to use the modem, making it an expensive paper weight.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a folder on your desktop to store the driver information you will be copying. Do this by right-clicking on the desktop and select "Create New Folder." A new folder will appear; type in a name you would like to give it. Open the folder and leave it open.

    • 2

Insert the Packard Bell Master CD into the computer. Close any program that launches.

    • 3

Open "My Computer." The CD will be listed among the drives. Right-click on it and select "Open." This will display the contents of the disk.

    • 4

Find the folder called "Drivers." Open it and look through the list of drivers until you find the modem driver (listed by name). The actual name of the file may vary slightly, but it most likely will have the product name or model number somewhere in the title.

    • 5

Click and drag the modem file from the CD into the folder you created. The computer will begin to copy the driver information from the CD to your computer.
