Step 1
Connect the device and charge it. Plug one end of the USB cable that came with the device into your handheld and the other end into a spare USB jack on your computer. Plug the AC adapter into the wall and the other end into the Palm TX.

Slide the stylus out of the Palm TX and press the power button that is adjacent on the top.

Tap "Applications" and then tap "Quick Tour" at the top of the Applications launcher. Follow the onscreen instructions to take a quick tour of the handheld.

Install the Palm Desktop software on your PC. Place the CD in the CD drive on your computer. Follow the installation instructions.

Synchronize with Outlook. Select "Install Microsoft Outlook Conduits" at the end of the Palm Desktop installation process. If you had a previous Palm handheld, the installation process will give you the opportunity to move the applications you used over to the new device.

Launch the Palm Desktop software on your computer and select "Getting Started." This will launch an orientation guide.

Master the device by playing with it a bit. The front screen is a touch screen. Looking at the lower row of buttons, the left-hand button launches the home screen with all the applications. The second button along launches the calendar, the middle button is a 5-way control, with an "Enter" button in the middle. The fourth button is for your contacts and the fifth is the web browser.
