How to Make a Jedi Knight Costume

The heroes of Star Wars, the Jedi Knights, are a popular costume choice. You can put a Jedi costume together from materials around the house, and add a toy lightsaber to complete the outfit. Toy lightsabers come in different colors. In the Star Wars series, usually only those who follow the Dark Side carry a red blade. If you want to make a Dark Jedi costume, follow the same instructions, but wear black and carry a red lightsaber.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Wide brown belt
• White karate top
• Loose fitting brown pants
• Brown boots
• Long brown robe or cloak
• Toy lightsaber
• Needle
• Thread
• Velcro
• Pins
• Hair clip
• Fake hair or yarn
• Thin leather

Costume

1. Put on the karate top. Wrap it around you how you want it to fit. Put straight pins in where the shirt overlaps. Take off the shirt.

2. Sew Velcro onto the part of the shirt that tucks under the other side. Sew the fuzzy piece on the underside of the piece that goes over.

3. Wrap a piece of leather around the lightsaber. Remove the lightsaber and sew the leather loop onto the belt.

4. Put the pants on, then the shirt. Do not tuck the shirt in. Put the belt on top of the shirt and fasten in back. Put the boots on and tuck the pants into the boots. Put the robe on. Put the lightsaber back in the belt.

Hair

5. The way you wear your hair depends on the type of Jedi you are. If you are a master, wear it however you want. A padawan learner, however, has a braid.

6. Pull all the hair back except for a few strands. Braid the strands together. The braid should sit over your shoulder.

7. If you have short hair, braid yarn or fake hair together and use a hair clip to attach.
