How to Get a Draik Neopet
Draiks are special, limited edition pets in Neopets. Unlike other pets, Draiks can't be picked upon the creation of a new account; instead you have to purchase rare and expensive eggs and hatch them yourself. To complicate matters even more, Draik eggs can only be hatched at a single hidden location in Neopia.

Go to "Explore" from your main menu. From the Neopian map select the "Mysterious Island." Once at Mystery Island click on the "Trading post." At the trading post main menu, type "Draik egg" into the search field and search for all trades that include a Draik egg. A list of available trades and their offers will show up matching your search criteria. Find a Draik egg that you can afford and make an offer for it. After you send the offer you will need to wait for the owner of the trade to get online and either accept or decline your offer. If the owner accepts your offer, the Draik egg will show up in your inventory.

Now you need to hatch your Draik egg. The only place to hatch the Draik egg is at the Draik Nest, which has the ideal conditions for hatching baby Draiks. The Draik Nest was once located in Meridell. Though to add to the rarity of the Draik, the Neopets staff removed the visible navigation to the nest. To find the Draik Nest, see the link in the Resource section.

Once in the Draik Nest just click on the small nest in the center of the cave to hatch your Draik egg. You will be taken to another page showing your Draik hatching from the egg.

Tips & Warnings
The person offering the Draik egg is getting multiple offers for it, so it's sometimes helpful to Neomail the owner and let him know that if needed you can offer more Neopoints or special items. Draik eggs sell for about 2 million. When you search the trading post and keep seeing other prices, refresh the page every few minutes and wait for someone to put one up for the average price. You will not be able to hatch your egg if you have four pets already, so you will have to abandon one or use a transmogrification potion. Purchasing a transmogrification potion will often cost as much as a Draik egg. This alternative method gives you more control over the gender of your pet, however, as you'll be transforming one of your existing pets into a Draik. You may also find a Draik through the adoption center. You can't search by species or anything like that, but whenever members quit Neopets they put their pets up for adoption.
