How to Troubleshoot Zoo Tycoon Complete

Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection is a zoo simulation computer game released by Microsoft in 2003. As with many computer programs, users will sometimes run into problems when using Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection. The most common problems for The Complete Collection version of Zoo Tycoon are an error message informing the user of the inability to install a setup file and the inability to play the original game without any of the expansion packs.

Instructions

Setup Cannot Install System Files

1. Close the "Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection" installation window and remove the installation disk from the CD ROM drive.

2. Shut down any programs running on the computer that are not essential to the computer's operations. It is especially important to shut down any Microsoft programs, such as Word or Windows Media Player. Files which need to be updated during the installation of Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection may be used by these other programs, which causes the error.

3. Reinsert the Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection installation disk and follow the onscreen instructions to install the game.

4. Restart the computer once the installation is complete to ensure the installation was successful.

Unable to Play With the Original Feature List

1. Open Zoo Tycoon: The Complete Collection and start a new game or open a saved game.

2. Click the "Construction" button on the top left corner of the screen to bring up the "Construction" menu.

3. Select "All" at the top of the menu and choose "Zoo Tycoon" to use the original features from "Zoo Tycoon" without the expansion packs.
