Things You'll Need:
- One extra large baking pot
- Food to serve guests (menu below)
- Tables and place settings
- Tin buckets filled with sand
- Summertime beers
- CD/stereo system and/or live music/band
-
Step 1
Bake the main course. In a large pot and using recipes from cookbooks or online, bake together traditional clam bake fare including but not limited to baked stoneneck clams with bread crumbs, roasted garlic, fresh parsley, horseradish Hollandaise, sweet new queens corn on the cob, prawns and shrimp.
-
Step 2
Prepare side dishes. Traditional varieties include sweet and savory corn bread offerings, served with different varieties of butter such as honey or jalapeno.
-
Step 3
Decorate your tables. Festive options include checkered tablecloths, tin pails filled with sand or ice for keeping beers cold, and summer umbrellas.
-
Step 4
Plan your music. The best option is a live band but a great barbecue mix CD featuring everyone's favorites of the '80s, '90s and today.
-
Step 5
Host your fete. Send out invitations, throw on an apron and get ready to have a blast at your great event.
