You can buy new or pre-owned metal miniatures in gaming stores. They are used to play games such as Warhammer 40K, and Dungeons and Dragons. Pre-owned miniatures typically are already painted, but sometimes you can find a pre-owned miniature that isn't made by the company anymore. You can remove paint from metal miniatures to give them a new look that fits with the rest of your army.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Simple Green
  • Jar with lid
  • Latex gloves
  • Toothbrush (firm)
  • Wire brush
  • Dish soap
  1. Step 1

Fill a jar or glass about half full with all-purpose cleaner Simple Green. The company's website provides a list of retailers that carry its products.

  2. Step 2

Put your metal miniatures in the jar filled with the cleaner. Place three or four miniatures in a small jar, and up to six or seven in a larger jar. Screw the lid on the jar and let the metal miniatures sit in the cleaner for 24 hours.

  3. Step 3

Wearing a pair of latex gloves, drain the cleaner from the jar. Scrub metal miniatures with a firm-bristle toothbrush under running water. Use a wire brush to remove paint from recesses.

  4. Step 4

Use dish soap and the toothbrush to scrub the metal miniatures and remove any residue left by the cleaner.
