How to get Sign Up for a Google Wave Account

Google Wave is a new Google product in beta mode that is all about collaboration with others. It allows you to create, edit, chat, comment and more in a single viewable "wave." Waves are collaboration sessions that are recorded into a video form. You can log back in after your wave sessions and view how the document or project transformed in real time.

Things You'll Need:

• internet connection
• google account

1. In order to sign up for a Google Wave account you need to first have a google account. If you don't have one, simply sign up for a gmail account at http://gmail.com.

   Go to the Google Wave homepage. (http://wave.google.com)

   Click on the "Request an invitation" link on the Google Wave homepage

4. 
    

   You will be redirected to a different page with a form to fill out. Fill out the form with your current information and press "sign me up!" Make sure you use your gmail email as your email on the form.

5. Sit back and wait for your google wave invitation to arrive via email. It can take a long time or not long at all. What you checked in the form will put you higher or lower on the priority list to get an invitation and be a beta tester.

Tips & Warnings

• Another way to get a Google Wave account is to find a friend that has one. Each friend is allowed to invite 8 new people to try out the product.
• It will be easier to get an invitation if you have a gmail account.
