How to Cook Spaghetti Squash in The Microwave Oven

Spaghetti squash is a healthy alternative to regular spaghetti. It is very simple to cook and the microwave.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spaghetti squash
  • Microwave
  • Knife
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

    Peirce the spaghetti squash several times with the knife. Be sure to poke all the way to the center. These our are steam vents for cooking.

  2. Step 2

    Place the whole spaghetti squash into the microwave. A large dish is suggested to catch the juices.

  3. Step 3

    Cook on high for 20 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    After 20 minutes the spaghetti squash should be steaming. If it's not cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before handling.

  5. Step 5

    Cut the spaghetti squash in half with a sharp knife. One benefit of making this cooking the squash whole in the microwave is cutting is now quite easy.

  6. Step 6

    Scoop out the seeds and "guts" with a spoon. Don't over scoop!

  7. Step 7

    We suggest eating right out of the shell. Add your spaghetti sauce right into each half.
