Clear Up Body Acne

People can easily clear up body acne with a few easy steps. In most cases, it does not even require a trip to the dermatologist for prescription drugs or topical creams. Acne can be painful, may leave scars, and lowers peoples self esteem. Why not address the issue now before it becomes a major problem? Clear up your body acne and start feeling better about yourself today.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shower regularly, as showering eliminates bacteria from the skin. When bacteria seeps into your pores, (and there are pores on your body) it causes breakouts. However, do not shower too often as it may have a reverse effect on the sebaceous glands on your body. Overstimulation of these glands may also cause breakouts to occur.

  2. Step 2

Exfoliate your skin with a mild cleansing soap. Apply an apricot scrub with apricot and jojoba butter extracts to a loofah and cleanse your entire body. Exfoliation gets rids of all the dead skin cells that can clog pores. Just make sure you thoroughly wash your body, as leftover soap/cleanser can cause skin irritation to occur.

  3. Step 3

Apply a thin coat of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide to the affected areas. Make sure the areas has been thoroughly cleansed and dried. Sometimes benzoyl peroxide may bleach clothing, so apply with care. Benzoyl peroxide is considered an over-the-counter medication and can be purchased at any drug store.

  4. Step 4

Avoid popping any spots as it may cause bacteria to spread increasing the chances of further breakouts. Remember that popping a zit can cause inflammation to occur and may actually make the zit look worse. If you do happen to pop a zit, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water.

  5. Step 5

Contact a dermatologist if your body acne persists. Although there are plenty of over-the-counter body washes and spot treatments, sometimes it is better to get advice from a skin care professional. A dermatologist may recommend lifestyle changes as well as prescription medications/creams if they are necessary.
