1
Consider buying jewelry or collectibles with the birthday boy's or girl's birthstone. The modern stone for October is the opal; the traditional is the tourmaline; the mystical stone is the jasper. All point toward good fortune and hope.
-
2
Consider astrological attributes when purchasing a gift. For the charming, peace-loving October Libra, born October 1 to 23, how about cologne, perfume or candles? Passionate October Scorpios, born October 24 to 31, may want a journal or a book of poetry to match their intensity.

-
3
Purchase something in the astrological birthstone as an alternative to the monthly birthstone: The Libra's stone is lapis lazuli; the Scorpio's is malachite.
-
4
Keep flowers in mind; calendulas are the flowers for October.
-
5
Try adhering to a holiday theme, such as a Halloween gift basket or a fun costume, along with a Halloween night on the town.

This is a good time of year to buy sweaters for your man. Most of the new fall lines are brand new in the stores and your guy will have it first! -

My birthday is on Halloween The only costume I'd like to receive as a gift is an intimate one (if it's from my partner). I like poetry, writing, books, roses, etc. I also like sentimental things from my partner. If your partner's birthday is in October, be creative. -

Please remember that people who have October birthdays have always had to deal with the whole Halloween theme, especially if it is close to the 31st. I would never want to receive a costume or related item as a gift.
