Instructions

    • 1

Design your ramp on paper, or mock up your ramp with cardboard or paper. Pay special attention to ramp length and height relative to the transition angle.

    • 2

Cut the ramp side panels out of 1/2" plywood.

    • 3

Cut the transition and back panel of the ramp from 1/4" plywood. Thinner plywood allows for a curved transition if desired.

    • 4

Cut one 2x4 brace for every four inches of transition. These will reinforce the thinner plywood used for the ramp face and should be 1" shorter than the width of your ramp to make up for the 1/2" side panels.

    • 5

Screw the ends of the braces to the side panels of your ramp. Be sure that they line up squarely with the ramp face.

    • 6

Screw the ramp face into the 2x4 braces. Use as many screws as necessary to create a sturdy transition.

    • 7

Screw the back panel into the 1/2" side panels.

    • 8

Attach two bolt-on caster wheels to the lower part of the back panel.

    • 9

Attach a drawer handle to one of the 2x4 braces on the underside of the ramp. The handle should be mounted to a brace as close to the front of the ramp as possible.

    • 10

To move the ramp, simply lift it onto the caster wheels and pull it by the handle.
