How to Read GI Joe Comics Online
While the "G.I. Joe" legacy extends back to the 1960s, the current characters and concept of the team began in the 1980s with the collaboration between Hasbro and Marvel comics. Marvel published the adventures of G.I. Joe's team and archenemy Cobra for more than 10 years before canceling the series. After Marvel, several publishers had limited runs of "The Great American Hero." In 2008, IDW Publishing revived the "G.I. Joe" comics---with the same heroes and villains that began in the 1980s.

Point your browser to JMM's "G.I. Joe" comics homepage: Myuselessknowledge.com/joe/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1. This page gives you the summary of the current comics---and provides several comprehensive resources for the world of G.I. Joe. You'll find character biographies including Airborne and Zap of the Joes, and the Cobra personnel ranges from Baroness to Zartan. You can even look up lesser-known characters that may have only appeared in one or two comics. The site also features an encyclopedia of additional groups, places and vehicles from the Joe-verse. And JMM has constructed a chronology of major historical developments and commentary on how that history plays into the plot and continuity of "G.I. Joe." In addition to summarizing and categorizing the fictional elements of "G.I. Joe," the site follows news from Hasbro and IDW on the development of the "G.I. Joe" brand.
