How to Download Tunes to iPod

The Apple iPod uses a program called iTunes to sync all of its information and add music. Music can be downloaded through iTunes and then be added to the iPod the next time you connect it to the computer. This will keep you from purchasing CDs from the store and ripping the contents from them onto your computer, all of which can be extremely time consuming.

Click the "Music" tab, located on the top of the iTunes screen (as of September 2009).

    • 4

Navigate through the music titles until you find something you would like to purchase and download. Click the icon or music title.

    • 5

Click "Buy Album" to purchase and download the music. You will be asked to type in your user account and password. If you do not yet have one, click "New Account." From here you can enter your desired user information, as well as your payment method, which will be saved. The music will begin to download to your computer as soon as the purchase is complete.

    • 6

Connect your iPod to your computer. If iTunes is closed it will launch automatically.

    • 7

Select your iPod device from the left side of the iTunes screen. This will bring up the iTunes information menu. Click "Music."

Scroll through the selection of music. You will find the new album you recently downloaded. Check the box next to it and click "Sync" in the lower right corner. The music will now be downloaded to your iPod. Do not disconnect the iPod from the computer until the sync has completed.
