How to Cook Food for a Cat with Kidney Failure

If your cat has undergone any kind of kidney trouble or failure you will need to specially monitor nearly every action your cat undertakes. This includes the kind of food he or she eats. With the kidney issues, you will not be able to give your cat the typical dry or canned food. Instead you need to prepare food that is easy on the digestive track but still give them the necessary protein.

Things You'll Need

• Chicken liver
• Chicken
• Rice
• Vegetable oil
• Calcium carbonate
• Iodized salt

Instructions

1. Cook 21 grams of chicken liver and 21 grams of white chicken until well done. Cut the meat up into small pieces so it is easier for your cat to chew.

2. Cook the 98 grams of rice separately.

3. Combine the rice, 7 grams of vegetable oil and chicken parts together.

4. Add seven-tenths grams of calcium carbonate and one-half gram of iodized salt, which can be purchased at most pet health stores, into the food.

5. Serve the food warm to your cat.
