Things You'll Need:
- Car wax/polish
- Soft cloth to apply wax/polish
- Several soft cloths to remove wax/polish
-
Step 1
Polish your car only after a thorough washing.
-
Step 2
Work in only one area at a time. Apply wax/polish with a soft cloth or with the applicator (these come mainly with paste wax) included with the wax/polish. Apply wax/polish according to the directions on the can or bottle. Follow manufacture's directions on how long to leave it on, or how to determine when it should be buffed off. Using a clean, dry cloth, buff wax/polish off of the car. Change cloth when it becomes covered with residue.
-
Step 3
Start applying the wax/polish to the top of your car. (Drive a convertible, and it will save you some work.) I then move to the hood and trunk. I polish the sides last. This is the same order I use when washing my car.
-
Step 4
Step back, and admire your beautiful hand polished car.
