-
Step 1
Make an attempt to call and talk with your significant other at least once a day. Purchase phone cards or phone plans that allow for free calls.
-
Step 2
Download Skype onto each of your computers and communicate with each other over video.
-
Step 3
Meet each other at a location half-way between the two of you. Plan destination dates in advance--the anticipation will give you something to talk about.
-
Step 4
Be positive! Remember that things are never as bad as you think if you have each other.
-
Step 5
Avoid jealously. Trust each other and know that you will both remain loyal. Give each other the benefit of the doubt when suspicions get the best of you
-
Step 6
Send each other fun notes and gifts in the mail. Love letters can be very romantic.
-
Step 7
Keep some of your significant other's belongings with you so that you can be reminded of them. Having a clothing item with their scent still on it can be especially heart-warming.

on 10/12/2009 Good advice that my husband and I practice since he works 9 hrs away. We do "meet" for weekends...

on 10/2/2009 I remember my (now wife) and I did this during college years. One in San Diego, one in Spokane. Very tough. I wish we had Skype back then.
When you talk, you absolutely have to be 100% there...if that makes any sense at all. :^)
Nice article. Thanks.
