Edible fingerpaints! How brilliant is this. If your kids accidently eat some then no worries! My kids have really enjoyed this, especially during the summer months where they can play with it outside.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 T sugar
  • 1/2 C cornstarch
  • 2 C cold water
  • food coloring
  1. Step 1

Over a medium heat, mix sugar and cornstarch together in a pan. Slowly whisk in cold water. Cook until reaches medium (cake batter)consistency. Will thicken upon standing so keep this in mind for the consistency. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour into separate containers and mix in food coloring.

  2. Step 2

Spread out large sheets of paper. I generally cover my table with newspaper and then put paper for them to paint on top of it. I also make them wear smocks bc the food coloring could stain. In the summer they paint outside in their bathing suits. I hose off the sidewalk and then afterwards for an easy clean :)

  3. Step 3

At first the paint will be a nice smooth consistency. Over time it will thicken and become more goopy. There's nothing wrong with this, it will just be thicker.
