The faster your metabolism, the faster your body burns calories. This is very important when you are trying to lose weight and want to keep that weight off. There are different things you can do to boost your metabolism and make your body a calorie burning machine.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Eat often, like every 3 hours and small meals. Stick to the foods you know are healthy, but eat more often. When you try to starve yourself, thinking this will help you lose weight, you are slowing your metabolism and causing your body to go into starvation mode. Make sure you eat often to keep your metabolism burning high. Make sure you eat breakfast. After your body has been sleeping all night repairing itself, you need to feed your body to get your metabolism going again for the day. Include lean proteins in your diet. Protein is harder for your body to break down than carbohydrates and fats, causing you to burn more calories with lean protein.

  2. Step 2

    Eat foods high in fiber. Vegetables, fruits and whole grains high in fiber take longer to digest, thus causing you to burn more calories. Add spicy foods to your diet. Spicy foods make your metabolism increase. Try some hot chilli for supper!

  3. Step 3

    Drink coffee, caffeine speeds up your heart rate, which causes your metabolism to increase. Just don't over do it, especially if you have heart problems or sleeping problems. We all know about drinking lots of water in our diet, but did you know you should be drinking ice water, as cold as you can get it. Your body will have to "warm it up" to bring the water to body temperature, which will increase your metabolism. Fill those glasses with ice cubes!

  4. Step 4

    Exercise! Whatever you like, walking, jogging, aerobics, weight lifting, dancing, roller blading, playing with your kids, just get your body moving. This will definitely increase your metabolism.

  5. Step 5

    Follow these steps and you will definitely raise your metabolism and burn more calories.
