Step 1
Getting Started
Before you sell your books it is important that you conduct a little research to find out how much your books are worth and what they are selling for. Do this by going online and Googling each book you wish to sell. You search will undoubtedly return results for a few listings for that book. Consider listing your books a little less that what other people are selling them for to gain an edge on the competition. -
Step 2
Selling Online
Log on to a few websites that are popular for buying and selling books. An example of a few such sites include Amazon.com and Half.com. Such sites make it easy to list and sell your books. Price your books based on the condition and level of demand for each book. -
Step 3
Online Auctions
Consider listing your books on online auction websites such as Ebay.com or Sell.com. The auction format on such websites will give a chance for a number of people to bid and complete to purchase your books. -
Step 4
Used Book Stores
Head down to a used book store near you and see what they are willing to pay for your books. Consider visiting a few bookstores to see who is willing to give you the most money for your books. -
Step 5
Selling Textbooks
If you are selling your college textbooks consider using an online service specially geared towards buying and selling such books. One such website that is great for this is ecampus.com (see resources section for direct link). Such websites give you the opportunity to list your college textbooks on their site and sell them to other students all over the world.
