Things You'll Need:
- Coaching certification
- Phone
- Marketing materials
-
Step 1
Look into obtaining a coaching certification. Having a business coach or general coaching certificate will offer credibility to potential clients. It also will provide a lot of helpful resources a business coach needs to share with clients.
-
Step 2
Determine what your target market and business coaching niche might be. If you have a lot of experience in a specific field, just as automotive, small business, medical, etc., you may want to specialize in business coaching to that specific field.
-
Step 3
Prepare marketing materials and include your personal business experience and your qualifications as a business coach to a specific market.
-
Step 4
Stock up on business cards, letterhead, flyers, etc. Distribute these materials at networking events, to referral partners, and leave behind at businesses and community bulletin boards.
-
Step 5
Hire a business coach or marketing coach yourself to have the experience of working with a mentor, and to use your experience to relate the value and reality of propelling a business forward by working with a coach to your clients.
-
Step 6
Interview business coaches to understand what it is like to do business coaching as a profession and to create connections with other business coaches.
