The Brown recluse spider is one of the more deadly and aggressive spiders, but it’s important to be able to identify the brown recluse spider so you never have to learn for yourself!

Difficulty: Easy

Your first clue in identifying the brown recluse spider will be to consider popular locations for these spiders. They are a lot more common in the eastern states.

  2. Step 2

The brown recluse spider also likes to hide underneath things. Often times these spiders will be found lurking in your garage, the basement, or in dark cluttered places.

  3. Step 3

If you’re going to be working in these environments, grab a pair of gloves and watch out for spiders. If you decide to go bothering these spiders, they might be all too anxious to get you right back!

A better way to identify the deadly and aggressive brown recluse spider is to look at it’s eyes. When I say look, I mean grab your camera phone and zoom in, don’t get at all close to this spider. This spider will have 3 pairs of eyes, and is one of the few spiders to have 6 eyes.

  5. Step 5

A great way to identify this spider is by its size. The deadly and aggressive brown recluse spider is one of the smaller varieties of spiders, with a leg span of little over an inch. Then have thin legs and a small body.

  6. Step 6

Perhaps one of the most popular ways to identify the deadly and aggressive brown recluse spider is by looking for a violin shaped marking on its back—I do not recommend this method. You shouldn’t get too close to the spider trying to check out the pattern on its back, and many spiders have similar markings, so it’s difficult to be sure.
