Step 1
Start at an early age.Start showing your kids at an early age that you care about them and their feelings. This can be done by comforting them through their fears, sympathizing with their needs, explaining to them when a discipline situation occurs.

Teach them that interrupting, hitting , screaming is wrong and will not be permitted. This should be taught with firmness and not anger and in a calm quiet voice.
Teach them kindness and empathy. -

Teach kids respect.Set boundaries and let them know what is expected of them.
Give them rules to follow. No bad language,do not use others belongings without permission. Compliment your child when they have followed the rules, and when the rules are broken let them know that is unacceptable. -

Practice good manners. Teach them to be courteous, to say please and thank you. Teach them to say may I and excuse me, I am sorry.

Think about what your kids are learning by watching you. Kids learn from parents, how they treat one another and other behaviors.

Show your child how to respect the elderly, take your child alone with you when you visit an elderly relative. Teach your child that elderly people deserve respect because they've worked hard, lived long and have a lot of wisdom to share.

Teach your child how to disagree with others. Encourage them to respect nature, wild creatures, plants and animals. Also encourage them to respect their surroundings and to protect the environment.
