The splendid fall foliage of Vermont in itself is unforgettable, but the variety of venues of viewing it only enrich your vacation experience. Choose your favorite color and watch the color reports to know the most attractive time for you to travel sometime in September or October. Earlier in the fall foliage season plan your unforgettable vacation in the North and in upper altitudes for first changes of color. For vacations later in the fall, head to Southern Vermont.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Swirl above the leaves drifting lazily over the yellow, orange, and red hues in a hot air balloon. If you’ve never been hot air ballooning, just this experience will be unforgettable. Add the crisp fresh air of fall, and the colors below to admire, and this is a vacation not to miss.

  2. Step 2

Wind through the fall colors on the train stopping in the downtown areas of your choice. Here’s an unforgettably relaxing vacation to find great restaurants, and shops all under Vermont‘s magnificent fall colors.

  3. Step 3

Plan your trip according to your taste buds. Wine and dine underneath Vermont’s fall foliage enjoying the specialty foods of the different regions. Cheese or chocolate tasting, all your senses will have an unforgettable vacation extravaganza. Harvest fresh apples, plums, pumpkins and much more yourself as fresh souvenirs to take home.

  4. Step 4

Use Vermont’s fall foliage as a backdrop for the state’s historic covered bridges. A historic expedition of these beautiful bridges under the fall leaves may be the unforgettable vacation that refreshes you for returning to life’s responsibilities.

  5. Step 5

Take advantage of midweek deals on everything from accommodations, to restaurants and transportation for truly unforgettably low prices.
